{"id":676,"date":"2015-05-08T06:12:41","date_gmt":"2015-05-08T10:12:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.columbusbg.org\/?p=676"},"modified":"2015-05-08T06:12:41","modified_gmt":"2015-05-08T10:12:41","slug":"may-2015-monthly-tournament-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.columbusbg.org\/?p=676","title":{"rendered":"May 2015 Monthly Tournament Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A club record-setting crowd of 14 people, including 2 first-time players (<b>Dawn Counts<\/b> and <b>Jim Bougor<\/b>), showed up this month for the tournament, in which we had our 5th different winner in 5 months as <b>Dale <\/b><b>Berlin<\/b> bested <b>Howard Shirey<\/b> in the Main bracket final. Due to time constraints, the 3rd place match between <b>Dawn Counts<\/b> and <b>Bob Hickey<\/b> has been postponed to next month. As a result, the Master&#8217;s Points standings for the month are not final, with the winner of the 3rd place match earning an additional 27 points.<\/p>\n<p>The current Masters Points standings can be found <a title=\"Masters Points\" href=\"http:\/\/www.columbusbg.org\/?page_id=18\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe increase in the number of players is truly great, and I appreciate all who made it out this month. It also underscores the need for me to be more aggressive about clocking matches that are threatening to run long, as more players mean more rounds of play.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to <strong>Dale, Howard, Dawn and Bob <\/strong>for their results this month, and welcome again to <strong>Dawn and Jim<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to all those who attended. The next monthly tournament will be held on June 14th, with the location to soon be determined.
