{"id":107,"date":"2012-05-07T16:01:09","date_gmt":"2012-05-07T20:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.columbusbg.org\/?p=107"},"modified":"2012-05-07T16:01:09","modified_gmt":"2012-05-07T20:01:09","slug":"may-tournament-results-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.columbusbg.org\/?p=107","title":{"rendered":"May Tournament Results and More!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>CBC Monthly Tournament Results &#8211; May 2012<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Columbus Backgammon Club has its first repeat winner of 2012, as <strong>Bob Hickey<\/strong> worked his way through an 8-player field to emerge victorious. <strong>Chris Yep<\/strong> also repeats his performance as the winner of the consolation bracket with a victory over <strong>Mike Rezai<\/strong> in the Consolation Final.<\/p>\n<p>We were also pleased to welcome two new (to our club) players &#8211; <strong>David Steinberg<\/strong> and <strong>Bram Binsky<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This month&#8217;s results have shaken up the top of the 2012 points race, with Chris Yep in the top slot with 111 points. Check the website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.columbusbg.org\">http:\/\/www.columbusbg.org<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>The Hoosier Backgammon Club wins the Ohio Valley Club Challenge<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Hoosier Backgammon Club took away top honors over three other clubs in a closely contested Ohio Valley Club Challenge in Cincinnati on April 29th. Each club sent a 6-player team to compete in a round-robin format, where each player their equivalent seed on the other teams in 9-point matches. The Columbus Backgammon Club tied in the middle of the pack with the Cincinnati Backgammon Players Club. The final standings were:<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to the members of the\u00a0 HBC, representing their club:<\/p>\n<p>Sean Garber<br \/>\nJim Curtis<br \/>\nScott Day<br \/>\nRose Sheedy<br \/>\nScott Johnston<br \/>\nKevin Heacox<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Sean Garber and <strong>Mike Rezai (Columbus)<\/strong> shared individual honors with 3-0 records.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Chouettes anyone?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We held a casual chouette on April 15th at KDB at Easton, with 7 people showing up for a casual afternoon of play. The more experienced players helped to teach the newer members the ropes, and it was a pretty good success.
